ESD products made by AUER Packaging

ESD stands for “electrostatic discharge”. Many of us have experienced the phenomenon of electrostatic charging in our everyday lives: You pull a sweater over your head, and your hair suddenly stands on end. The cause is static electricity that frequently results in an unsuspected charge and then an unpleasant discharge in the form of a small shock. But we run into this problem in areas outside our everyday lives as well – electrostatic charges play a major role in the storage and transport of industrial goods, too. A spark can trigger a brief, but highly electric voltage impulse that, in turn, can damage a device. To prevent this from happening, ESD-sensitive components and component groups should be stored and transported in an ESD-protected environment. You will find a range of ESD products that will prevent electrostatic charges from occurring in your goods in the AUER online shop.

Qualities of ESD products

No matter whether you are talking about ESD open front containers, all other ESD containers or ESD accessories – every conductive product is usually black. The reason? Specially conductive carbon fibres are added to the plastic during production. These fibres enable charges to be harmlessly discharged and protect the product in the process. Plastics like packing chips, bubble wrap and stretch foil frequently trigger powerful discharges and should not be used as a packing material for electric devices for this reason. Instead, you should store and transport your ESD-sensitive products in the ESD products made by AUER Packaging that are specially designed for these jobs.

Uses of antistatic plastic products

A large number of the containers in this range that are made by AUER Packaging are also available as ESD models. ESD stackable containers are designed for secure, space-saving storage and transport activities. KLT boxes also come in conductive ESD KLT models for the automotive industry. The large range of ESD boxes is complemented by ESD pallets. Electrostatic charges of up to 35,000 volts can be produced by rubbing and separating materials. But sensitive electronic components can be damaged or destroyed by a charge of 20 volts. This is why it is particularly important to prevent charging from occurring during electronic component production. You can avoid high repair costs and disruptions in electronically managed production processes by using such ESD products as ESD containers and ESD pallets.
